Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. You provide six pieces of information to the quote tool: your gender, date of birth, how you would describe your health in general terms, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you want, and how long you need the coverage. These six answers are sufficient for carriers to provide rate quotes. Your name, complete address, and detailed health history are only collected when you decide to proceed with an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

The prices shown are the rates that carriers provide for the health classification you indicated when requesting quotes. The carrier's underwriting process determines your final premium once an application is submitted, and underwriting may confirm your selected class, move you to a better class, or place you in a different class. The quotes displayed on this website are estimates provided for informational purposes and do not constitute a binding offer or a guarantee of any specific rate.

What happens when I click Apply?

Clicking Apply takes you to a secure application built on the carriers' own platform. The application is prepopulated with the information you entered to get quotes and the specific quote you selected. You can pause your application and return to it later, and you sign your application electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed insurance agency with License 0B75129, handles the application process.

Will I need a medical exam?

Whether an exam is required depends on the specific carrier, the death benefit amount you're seeking, and the information you provide in your application. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting programs for eligible applicants that make coverage decisions without a medical exam, often returning a decision quickly. Each quote shown on this site indicates whether that particular carrier's product requires an exam, may require an exam, or does not require an exam for the coverage you selected.

Is a longer term better?

The right term length depends on when your income would be most needed. Think about obligations like a home mortgage, dependents at home, or business debts—your term should cover those vulnerable years. A longer term costs more each month but protects against rate changes over a longer period; a shorter term costs less monthly but ends sooner. This site lets you request quotes for 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 years to compare costs and find what makes sense for your situation.

Does this site sell my information?

No. To get quotes, the quote tool only asks for basic information—gender, date of birth, health level, tobacco use, coverage amount and term—and does not request your contact details. We do not sell your information, do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes, and our website measurement does not use cookies. For a complete explanation of what information this site collects, what it does with that information, and what it does not do, see the privacy page.
